Maybe Bernard Pollard is Right

Ravens' cornerback Bernard Pollard says the NFL won't exist in 30 years, give or take. Maybe he's right. Given the state of the game today, it certainly won't look anything like it does today. Unless something is done regarding the safety of the bigger, faster athletes making bigger and harder hits, it is just a matter of time until there is a fatality on the field. The day that happens, everything will change. There will be a public outcry for change, senate hearings will be held, the NFL Players' Union will be filing lawsuits against the owners and every bit of dirty laundry the NFL and the owners have been suppressing for the past 30 years will become public knowledge. Once this happens, the public (myself included) will have no choice but to make a moral decision regarding America's favorite sport. Owners and players will be at each others' throats, a work stoppage will ensue and owners and the NFl will be forced to change the way the entire game is played. Owners and players don't trust one another already; it is only going to get worse. Just a prediction...

Maybe the NFL is "too big to fail'" but who knows?
